Seven Deadly Sins, Books 1, 2, 3, 4
Rochelle Rubinstein Kaplan 1993 In each book, the main symbol is a triangle, derived from the cloth triangles that the nazis made their concentration camp prisoners wear over their hearts (red for political, yellow for Jews, pink for homosexuals, black for saboteur, green for ordinary criminals, purple for religious enemies). My intent is parody -- of this absurd and terrible categorization by 'sin' of human beings and ridicule of the death-wielding power of institutionalized prejudice. My intent is also reversal -- to turn the triangles from symbols of beauty, simplicity, and life. | ||||
