This book deals with photographic images which "document" a specific place. Though inherently environmental, they hopefully speak as well to the inspiration and beauty we can find in these landscapes and the effort it takes to reach these places. The book form provided a vehicle for the intergration of my work in printmaking, photography, painting, jewelry, and papermaking. Enhancing the documentary quality of my books, the printed work has led to an exploration of the collaboration of text and imagery to make a visual statement. Letterpress printing, in particular, satisfies my desire, honed by years of making etchings, to see the physical impression of type on paper.
