Bruno Shulz became my favorite author as soon as I read his book. This book is an excerpt of a short story within a story filled with mystical and mythical imagery and writing. Reading the book reminds me of watching an accident, repulsive when you analyze it, but fascinating while you witness it. I have dedicated this pamphlet to Kathy Walkup, who introduced me to book arts and revealed to me as many fascinating things about books as Shulz did about his imagination.
