Uncommon Perspective of M.E.J. Colter, The
Lynne Avadenka 1992 Letterpress printed on hand made paper. 16 printed pages. Accordion and pamphlet binding. letterpress printing accordion and pamphlet binding 11 x 30 in 16 pages I began printing limited edition work that was a combination of my own words and images. Recent work has expanded to include the words of others, and a biographical work based on the life of an American woman architect. This book, in form and content, is an homage to Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter, responsible for the interior and exterior design of many of the buildings at the Grand Canyon. The body sheet for this book was designed and made at Twinrocker Handmade Paper in Brookston, Indiana. Made from, among other things, red earth from Santa Fe, its shape reflects the style of building that influenced Ms. Colter. | ||||
