Set in the 18th century, this book depicts an animated discussion between Immanual Kant, the rationalist philosopher of the Age of Enlightenment, and the famous hedonist Marquis de Sade. With such contrasting views of life, the narrative deals with issues related to the existence of God, personal responsibility, and the individual's role in society. Naria Quevedo's etchings mirror the ideas found in the text by expressing a loose, chaotic rawness which conveys the complex and unintelligible relationship between nature and human experience.
