In this story, a German woman attends a reception for Indian diplomats, where an inequality among the nations becomes evident through the behavior of the women in attendance. The pretentious representatives of the wealthy, industrialized nations are contrasted with the false airs of women from the ruling class of the third world. This psychological/sociological analysis inevitably leads to a question of what happiness really means. The artists Guillermo Deisler is an immigrant from Chile. His etchings and silkscreens convey the tensions between the characters with nervous strokes and drawings. | ||||
