Fly Away Home

Miriam  Schaer

1994
number 1
edition of 1

"Fly Away Home" begins in the present when a young man finds a hummingbird egg on the balcony of his high-rise apartment. In reflecting on the origins of the misplaced, abandoned egg, the pages of the book transform the apartment building and its surroundings back in time, into a primeval forest where the solitary egg can be returned to thrive.
