Two black books are closed into each other, clinging, their pages stuck; they are trapped in their embrace. A bittersweet lover's tale. With no text on their pages and their matte-black bodies receding almost into shadow, the books play with the notion of books as material objects which embody a promise or expectation of enlightenment, escape or transcendence of the physical. These books offer, in their humble and perverse way, a wayward fulfillment of that expectation.
