If ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny, perhaps a personal viewpoint an invoke the universal. "Memories of Science" describes my adventures growing up as a budding scientist.// As a child, I saw mathematics as the purest language. I believed that science was the physical embodiment of the clearly definable truths that characterize math. The book is a playful recollection, in rhymes, of my early experiences of science, illustrated with pop-up collages and incorporating science rhymes I wrote in chemistry and physics classes.// Set in Garamond, Latin Condensed and Copperplate and designed by computer using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and QuarkXPress. Laserprinted onto Mohawk Superfin and Superfine Cover and colored by hand. Made in the form of a concertina with a removable spine.// Five french-folded folios of text are sewn into alternate openings of the concertina; five pop-ups are constructed in the others. The folded covers are made from Superfine Cover overlaid with paper from a wasps' nest laminated to Sekeishu.
