"Meditations at the Edge: Paper and Spirit" by Dorothy Field was completed in the summer of 1996. The text combines Field's observations of how paper has been used in the Orient to connect the physical and the spiritual worlds with her thoughts on whether the traditional symbolism held in paper still has meaning in modern society.// "Meditations at the Edge" uses paper prayer flags found in the mountains of Tibet as a metaphor for the ways that paper connects the physical to the spiritual world.
