Angry Heart

Coriander  Reisbord

1998
used cutting blades sewn into curtain fabric
28 x 28 in
number 1
edition of 1

Well, you can read it, kind of. One blade stands for one event, like a very primitive writing/tally system, and you can stand here and kind of read the whole thing and see how they multiply and how the pace picks up and the order breaks down a little as you go down the sheet, and you can draw conclusions from that. If I had scattered all the blades around as if dropped at the same time it would be different, of course, in that it would be more a picture of a single event than a record of something that happened over time; I'm not saying that it would then cease to be a book, necessarily. Ha!
