"Andromeda Imagined" contrasts contemporary figure studies by Charles Hobson with star diagrams from the late 1600's which depict the constellations as established by the Greeks nearly 2,500 years ago. Pages pierced with holes cut in a star shape line up the constellation over each drawing--and in the case of the contemporary figures, a light beam from a small flashlight shines the stars onto the image.// Artists' books are a natural meeting place for image and word. Because of this, I work with books, particularly accordion and other sculptural forms of books, which allow both an intimate viewing experience and a group viewing experience to take place.
